Strategy Workshops

The Council hosts tailored workshops for members to address complex issues they are facing in their litigation and/or advocacy; or form cross-border strategies to address harmful legislation or policies. Previous workshops have covered topics such as: challenging unlawful age assessment procedures before the European Court of Human Rights; push-backs at the EU border; and preparing for the incoming Trump administration’s policies on the US-Mexico Border.

The workshops provide a space to brainstorm issues and identify tangible actions with experts from across our membership including academics, lawyers and representatives from institutions.

Our support offer covers all aspects of the strategy workshop, including identifying attendees from our membership, managing the logistics, and facilitating the sessions. Get in touch with us today to request a workshop.

Regional Consultations

At the Council, we believe in the power of people and the law to effect change.

Since 2023, the Council has been holding in-person regional consultations to create knowledge sharing and collaboration spaces for civil society and identify strategic legal work we can support. Co-convened with local member organizations, these consultations bring together key litigators, refugee leaders, advocates, academics and organizations working to advance the rights of people on the move through strategic litigation and legal advocacy.

These events enable participants to build partnerships, learn strategies and refine a vision for strategic litigation in their region and beyond.

Following these consultations, we have built five strong regional networks that we work hand-in-hand with to support regional and cross-regional change. Our regional consultations were the catalyst for these collaborative networks.
